Folkestone 10K Charity Race
Following the success of the first Folkestone 10Km race in 2012 - raising over £40,000 - The second race will fall on the same weekend (26th May) this year, 2013. Shepway Glass is again a main sponsor and will be supporting the athletes with refreshments at the end of the race.

The annual Folkestone 10 mile race is fast approaching. And this year is the 30th anniversary of the event. Shepway Glass are again sponsoring the race, and will be there helping to refresh the athletes with fruits and drinks. See you on Hythe Green this Good Friday (29th March)????

Apprentices for Glazing and Window Installations Wanted!!!
Ideal applicants will be 16 - 18 years old (however, 18 and over will be considered). Successful applicants will start a 40 hour week immediately. Will learn all aspects of the glass, glazing and installation trade. Full time position may be offered once apprenticeship is complete.

ShepwayGlass will again sponsor the two Folkestone based races. The team will be helping with the logistics for the events, and will be providing food and drinks for the athletes. Some team members will again be running. The Folkestone 10K Charity Run raised over £40,000 for local charities last year, and this year Shepway Glass hope to help the event organisers equal that total.

ShepwayGlass is Part of The Charity Race - The Folkestone Coastal 10K
ShepwayGlass will be helping with the event logistics and will be providing the refreshments for all race finishers. As per the Folkestone 10 Mile race...some of us will even be running the 10K. Come down and support the athletes on Sunday 27th May 2012. Race start is 10am from the former Rotunda Site on Folkestone seafront (CT20 1PX).
All proceeds will be donated to local charities.

More NVQs For The ShepwayGlass Team
Our installation and glazing teams received their NVQ certificates at the end of April 2012. Most of the team had already passed Level 2 NVQs. Some of them now have Level 3 NVQs while others chose to test their diverse skill set and now hold two Level 2 NVQs.
Which? Survey
The latest Which? survey has found that 'Independent Double Glaziers Do Better'.
Their latest satisfaction survey of double glazing companies found that independent traders perform better and might even be cheaper.The four big national companies are apparently leaving customers less satisfied than those who went with an independent double glazing company.
As one Which? member said: ‘Local firms rely on word of mouth for their reputation and in a small town they cannot afford to let this slip.’

Race Director, John Thompson; "A wonderfully flat, 10 mile run along the Hythe sea front to Folkestone Harbour. The race starts off with a lap on Hythe Green, a short distance on a road closed to traffic and then along the promenade towards Folkestone and then back again. When weather conditions are right this is a great opportunity for a personal best. Marshalls and water stations are plentiful and the route is traffic free.
This is the first year for Shepway Glass to be involved. They have sponsored the final water station on the Green and their staff will probably help one or two of you with well earned words of encouragement.” Full details of the race at www.folkestonerunningclub.co.uk
